St. John's Anglican Cathedral, Spadina Crescent

This Gothic Revival cathedral is one of the finest buildings in Saskatchewan. It was designed in the style of John Crother, a prominent English architect in the mid-1800s.
The building was originally designed to be built in India. When that project was abandoned, the young English-trained architectural firm of Thompson, Daniel and Colthurst adapted the original plans for Saskatoon. The Doulton terra cotta tiles were then shipped from England where they had been stored for several years.
