Passchendaele Memorial to Sydney Sterns

The 1917 battle of Passchendaele is synonymous with the horrors of World War One trench warfare. Canadian troops took Passchendale in November of 1917 after months of gruesome battle, with over 700,000 dead and wounded on both sides.
The 2008 Canadian film "Passchendaele" describes this tragic, horrifying sequence of events.
