Personification of Service

The woman is neither a mythical nor Biblical figure, but a personification of the quality of Service. Service is one of three primary Christian virtues, but is much better known as Charity, or sometimes Love. It may be that a negative connotation of the word "Charity" led to the word "Service" being used here.
