The Little Flower Window (interior)

This sumptuous window features a life-sized image of St. Theresa floating in a spectacular geometric field of jewel-like dalle de verre.
The setting of thick hand-chipped dalle de verre glass in lead is a technique unique to the Rault Studio. The heavy glass--at least four times the weight of normal glass--necessitated unusually tight gridding in the structural design. The figure of the saint is painted with conventional fired vitreous enamel on regular glass, which was also handmade by the Raults.
St. Theresa of Lisieux (1873-1897), known as the "Little Flower," was a nun who, after her early death, became a popular Saint in France.
