Queen Elizabeth II and Burmese at the Saskatchewan Legislature

The grand Beaux Arts style Saskatchewan Legislature, built between 1908 and 1912 of Manitoba Tyndall stone, is considered one of the finest legislative buildings in Canada.

This bronze sculpture of the Queen was unveiled by Her Majesty in 2005. Burmese was a Canadian black mare presented to Elizabeth by the RCMP; the horse became her favorite for many years. The larger than life statue was created by the Saskatchewan sculptor Susan Velder.
