Saint Boniface Cathedral was built first as a small log chapel in 1818, which was later turned into a grand cathedral in 1906. In 1968 a fire brought down most of the cathedral, but left the front facade standing, as pictured in this window. Four years later, a new cathedral, designed by Etienne Gaboury and Denis Lussier, was built behind the facade.
