Andre and Paul Rault, Rennes, France
circa 1956
As artists, Andre Rault (1912-1992) and his equally talented brother Paul (1910-1962) won awards for their glass designs at several Paris expositions. They were undoubtedly aware of their more famous contemporaries like Matisse, Braque and Picasso, and seem to have been somewhat influenced by them. The wildly extravagant windows in Blessed Sacrament are the best example we have seen of this artistic freedom.
