Adam and Eve Window as displayed at Auction

Valentin Bousch, Metz, France

2007

Valentin Bousch created this window in 1533 for the Benedictine Priory at Flavigny-sur-Moselle, France. Companion windows from the Priory are now at The Cloisters of the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

A fascinating article by a Corpus Vitrearum scholar may be found on our articles page.

It is unfortunate that Vancouver did not find a way to retain this unique Renaissance treasure.

Links to two newspaper stories on the loss of the window from Canada are on our Links page.
