Frederic Rault, France
1978
Our Lady is welcomed into heaven by Angels who play instruments and appear to clap hands.
In 1977, Frederic Rault was assuming control of the Rault Studio in Rennes (Brittany) from his father Andre. Assumption Cathedral was his first major commission. Frederic's artistic style is recognizably distinct from Andre's. The Modernist design of this large window features a vibrant array of rays, curving earthward from Mary's radiant face, and counterpointed by the upward arcs of the Angels' wings.
