107 Glimpses of Canada: West to East (Version 1.0)

The 107 photographs presented here are the first published overview of Canada's stained glass.

The sequence is from West to East,  from Vancouver Island on the Pacific Ocean to Nova Scotia on the Atlantic.

Since its formal  founding in 1867,  Canada has been nourished by the deep art traditions of its two mother nations,  England and France,  and by open doors to people from every continent. While not yet comprehensive, the series  reveals a wide range of  styles and technique.  There are unexpected delights,  such as  a window created in 1533  for the Benedictine Priory at Flavigny-sur-Moselle in France, by the Master glazier of Metz Cathedral, Valentin Bousch.

Another 30 events in Canadian history are richly depicted at Canadian Memorial Chapel in Vancouver, beginning with Giovanni Caboto's arrival in 1497.
